Lance S. Estrada, MD
Dr. Estrada is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with an additional subspecialty board certification in sports medicine. He attended Tulane University and graduated with high honors after three years with a degree in cell and molecular biology. He went on to attend Tulane University School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then completed his orthopaedic training at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he won the prestigious Leonard Marmor award as outstanding surgical resident his first year. In his final year, he was elected as the administrative chief resident for the program.
Dr. Estrada has performed over a thousand successful hip, shoulder, total and partial knee replacements using computer navigation. He is one of only a small number of doctors in the country to perform an innovative shoulder surgery called “reverse shoulder arthroplasty,” used for irreparable rotator cuff tears and severe arthritis.
He is the team physician to Metairie Park Country Day football and Delta Festival Ballet. He is the former team physician for University of New Orleans (UNO) athletics. As community service, Dr. Estrada provides care to the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic.
