Dr. Cary is an orthopaedic surgeon who has practiced with Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans since 1960. Dr. Cary routinely treats general orthopaedic diseases and conditions as well as stroke disabilities. In addition, he performs independent medical evaluations and treats patients having on-the-job injuries. A graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine, Dr. Cary completed his residency at Charity Hospital of New Orleans and then joined the United States Air Force. He later completed a hand fellowship in Paris, France, and, joint replacement training at the Mayo Clinic and Harvard University. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. J. Dr. Laborde joined Orthopaedic Associates in 1981. Besides his active practice of general orthopaedics and joint replacement, Dr. Laborde has published peer reviewed articles on psychology of chronic back pain and treatment of forefoot ulcers ( www.footulcer.info ). for more information. He is an expert on whiplash and workman compensation issues, biomechanics, and chronic pain. He is a registered engineer and board certified in orthopaedic surgery, forensic examination, and forensic medicine. A graduate of the Tulane University School of Engineering and School of Medicine, Dr. Laborde earned a master's degree in biomechanical engineering while completing his orthopaedic residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. He taught orthopaedic surgery and biomechanical engineering at Vanderbilt University. He is president of the New Orleans Leadership Council of the American Diabetes Association, 2005. He was chosen by his peers as a "Top Doctor" in New Orleans Magazine, 2001. He was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Award by the National United Cerebral Palsy in 2000. Lance E. Estrada, MD
Dr. Estrada joined Orthopaedic Associates in 2004. A cell and molecular biology graduate cum laude from Tulane University, he also graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency program at the University of Alabama / Birmingham. Dr. Estrada specializes in general orthopaedics, joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and is currently the team physician for the Delta Festival Ballet and Country Day High School. Dr. Estrada is board certified. Kevin M. Watson, MD Dr. Watson is the newest associate to join OANO. He joined the practice in 2007. Dr. Watson graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1998 with a degree in Biology, magnum cum laude. He also graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Watson specializes in general orthopaedics, joint replacement surgery, and sports medicine. He is currently the team physician for Holy Cross High School. Dr. Watson is board eligible.
