Lance S. Estrada, MD, is a highly skilled and experienced orthopaedic surgeon in practice at Orthopaedic Associates of New Orleans. Many men and women in and around New Orleans turn to him for all of their joint health needs.

Dr. Estrada began his educational path at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he earned his degree in cell and molecular biology with high honors in just three years. He then began his medical training at Tulane University School of Medicine.

Dr. Estrada further refined his skill and education at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. While there, he proudly received the Leonard Marmor award and was chosen as the administrative chief resident during his final year in the program.

In his years of orthopaedic practice, Dr. Estrada has performed more than one thousand shoulder, hip, total, and partial knee replacements. He is also one of the few surgeons in the nation offering reverse shoulder arthroscopy. This procedure is instrumental in repairing damage caused by severe arthritis or rotator cuff tears that would otherwise be irreparable.

Dr. Estrada has put down deep roots in his community and formerly served as the team physician for University of New Orleans Athletics. He currently works as the physician for both the Delta Festival Ballet and the Metairie Park Country Day football program. Dr. Estrada also believes in giving back to his community and donates his time and services to the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic.
